Two things you can do now to get ready for video on Apple Podcasts

Hey, We're still working hard on getting Transistor's video podcast distribution features ready for beta release. This includes the ability to host video on Transistor, and have it distributed to Apple Podcasts' new video program. Apple just sent us a bit of a curveball. During testing we noticed that one of our podcasts didn't automatically show video in the Apple Podcasts app. Apple replied saying:
Not every show is automatically enabled for video. We manually review each account before enabling the feature to ensure it meets our content guidelines (no copyright violations, guideline issues, etc.).
Users will need to request that Apple review their account [for video eligibility]. We'll review and enable eligible accounts.
This means there are two things you should do right now if you're planning on using Apple HLS video: 1. Claim your show in Apple Podcasts Connect If you haven't already, you'll need to claim your podcast on podcastsconnect.apple.com. Here's a quick YouTube walkthrough: 2. Ask Apple to approve your account for video You can request a review right now:
Once Apple has approved your account (and you've enabled video distribution in Transistor), your video will start appearing in Apple Podcasts. We are going to begin a small rollout of beta invites this week. If you have questions, please reply to this email! Cheers, |
